Meet Lilian, Your Next Home Organizer

Hi! I’m Lilian Chiu, the owner and lead professional organizer at Peony Professional Organizing. My passion for organizing began at an early age when I organized my stuffed animals by size and got stressed out from reading “The Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss (the cat made such a mess!).

After graduating from the University of Washington, I spent ten years as a Certified Public Accountant, using my tax expertise to provide a high-level of client service with 100% confidentiality. After moving to various apartments in Bellevue and Seattle, I realized how beneficial it was to simplify, only keeping the things I needed and loved. Getting rid of clutter and having a place for everything helped me gain physical and mental freedom.

And so - Peony Professional Organizing was founded in 2018 (Peony was chosen as the name since the flower symbolizes a peaceful, domestic life).

I absolutely love coaching my clients on how to eliminate clutter and setting up systems to help them be more productive and create more time to do the things they love.

Meet Our Team

Kim macias-shell (she/her/hers)

lead Organizer

“I’m a SoCal transplant, and while I do miss beach time, I’ve fallen in love with PNW (even the gray, rainy days!). I proudly call South Seattle home. I live with my partner, daughter, four chickens, three cats, and our dog. I love spending time with them all in our cozy, urban oasis we’ve created together - gardening, cooking, and playing games. I love being active and enjoy going for long walks along Lake Washington and in our neighborhood, overlanding, camping, and hiking.

I’ve always been a natural organizer and am excited to be able to do this for a living now! You can often find me in my spare time at The Container Store, geeking out on their latest products, binge-watching the latest organizing shows, and putting everything I learn into practice in my own home. I am so thrilled to help others tidy their spaces, experience the freedom and peace that comes with living with what you love, and knowing exactly where everything is in a beautifully curated way!”

“While I'm not originally from Washington, I'm proud to be able to call the PNW my home for more than 10 years now. My most recent professional background has been in Events Management and Crisis Intervention, but I've always loved organization. I believe it is a tool of radical self-care and am so thrilled to be helping others gain organizational freedom to enjoy sustainable, livable time in their own spaces.

My mom and I bonded over Marie Kondo during the Pandemic, and I came to really love folding (anything!). We enjoy brunching, relaxing in her backyard, and tackling the occasional organizational project together. My longest running hobby of thrifting ties in with my knack for organizing. Being able to give new life and purpose to thrifted objects while simultaneously adding pieces to my home organization and decor brings me joy.

During spare time not spent in thrift stores or with my family, I love trying out various mediums of art, going on nature walks with friends, reading library books with a cup of tea, building community, or hanging out with my dog and roommate while cooking up something tasty."

“I'm originally from Raleigh, North Carolina and have been enjoying exploring Seattle and the Pacific Northwest for almost a year now. Despite my relocation, however, my use of ‘y'all’ and my southern charm will always give my roots away. In my free time, you can find me crafting, traveling, exploring new cozy cafes around Seattle, or most recently, planning my May wedding! I love animals (I look forward to meeting yours!) and have a family cat and dog back in North Carolina, with hopes of adopting a PNW kitty in the new year.

I have been an avid organizer since I was little and would obsess over tidying my desk and schoolwork. Since then, I have taken organizing to another level in all areas of my life and find a lot of my inspiration from Marie Kondo. Giving my space structure has brought me a lot of joy and purpose, and I love supporting others on their own journey of decluttering!”

“I am from Southern California and moved to Seattle to begin college. I attend Seattle Pacific University and am pursuing a major in Elementary Education alongside a Concentration in Mathematics and a minor in Psychology. In pursuit of my dream to become a teacher, I have learned that an organized space is a large contributor to student success. The same thought process applies to our homes! We set ourselves up for success by creating a neat, thoughtful space.

When I am not in a classroom learning or teaching, you can find me exploring Seattle! I love trying new restaurants and walking paths. Whether it be by bike, car, bus, or ferry, I always find a way to embrace and seek adventure.”
